Dear Tom and Dawn:

 

    Just wanted to give you an update on the puppy.  We are IN LOVE!  Lisa says she feels like she's back in high school again with that "sick-in-love" feeling.  We both just can't wait to get home from work.  In fact, I took him to work with me one day and he stayed all day in my office!

 

    His name is Cubert.  (Our other dogs are Cato--a Shih Tzu--and Casey--a Lhaso--both black and white also.)  In the last week he has learned how to bark, growl, drink from a bowl, go potty outside (usually), climb the stairs to the 2nd floor (oh, no!), and chase our two Persian cats.  Next week we're gonna teach him how to drive a car, clean the pool, and mow the lawn.  There's no telling what he'll be doing by Thanksgiving!

 

    He is very smart and is growing like a weed.  We love him so much and we are just thrilled to have him.  He is VERY active and he likes to chew on EVERYTHING.  We are trying to teach him what is okay to chew on (toys, dog biscuits, etc.) and what is not (toes, electric cords, etc.).  It's a daunting task because he's EVERYWHERE.  He finally wears out (and wears US out!) about midnight or 1:00 am and sleeps through the night (with a trip or two outside during the night) on our pillow or right beside us.  He seems to be very happy and adapted to his new home.
